Students!

This event is just for you.

Join us on Wednesday, May 4, for a panel and networking event at Northwestern University. The event will kick off with a 6 p.m. panel about journalism in the digital age. Professional journalists and a Medill professor will discuss how technology is changing newsrooms and what kind of technical skills students need to succeed.

The panel will feature Brian Boyer, the editor of news applications at the Chicago Tribune, who was software designer prior to studying journalism at Northwestern. He’s an expert on the intersection of technology and journalism. He will be joined by Odette Yousef, a WBEZ reporter who covers the North Side of Chicago. Odette also exemplifies the journalism in the digital age, heading a bureau that intensely covers a diverse community. Assistant professor Susan Mango Curtis also will be joining us. She teaches news design for print and web, focusing on storytelling with visual impact.

After the panel, please join us for a networking reception. Coffee and cookies will be served.
